GQ magazine has appreciated U2 as the band of the year.


       Musicians U2 became laureates of the "Men Of The Year" from British GQ magazine in the category "Band Of The Year". Full list of winners is published on the official website GQ.

       Among the merits of U2 GQ mentioned the festival "Glastonbury" in June 2011, and the Tour 360 Degree. This tour was organized in support of the album "No Line on the Horizon". He started in Spain June 30, 2009 and ended in Canada July 30, 2011. The tour became the most lucrative in history, and income from it has exceeded 736 million U.S. dollars.

       In the "Music Man Of The Year" actor Hugh Laurie won the GQ award. He released his debut album "Let Them Talk" at the beginning of May 2011. The disc debuted on the second line of the British hit parade.
      Tinie Tempah rapper was named the best solo performer "Solo Artist Of The Year". At present, this discography of 22 year-old artist has just one studio album released in 2010 "Disc-Overy".

      Writer Of The Year was appreciated The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. His memoirs, entitled "Life", went on sale in October 2010 and became a bestseller.

       In addition, the music band Duran Duran was an honorary award for his contribution to music (Lifetime Achievement).

      The award ceremony took place on the British GQ in London on Tuesday, September 6, 2011.
