Of Course The CW Is Planning a Super-Sized Four-Show Crossover With Its Superhero Series
If you were worried in the wake of the announcement that Supergirl was migrating to The CW for Season 2 that the network would try to connect all four of its DC Comics superhero shows with a mega-super-huge crossover event, well, you were right to be worried! According to Entertainment Weekly, CW boss Mark Pedowitz confirmed the network's intent to do just that during his Upfront presentation on Thursday. "Next season, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and now Supergirl will join forces in our annual crossover event, our biggest ever," he said. (Would it be more accurate to say threatened?)
That sound you just heard was the crash of multiple desks being flipped over in not one, not two, not three, but four writers' rooms simultaneously. Not only do these folks have to attempt to craft up to 22 or 23 episodes of broadcast television that will keep viewers interested, but they have to also integrate a storyline that will require Ollie, Barry, Kara, and whoever else is left standing from DC's Legends of Tomorrow next season to all team up.
Meanwhile somewhere in an office in Burbank, Greg Berlanti laughs maniacally and throws another dart at a photo of Dick Wolf's face.
