Is the force strong with this one?Ewan McGregor has revealed that he’d up for reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, amid mounting speculation that the third Star Wars anthology film will focus on the powerful Jedi master. After the release of Rogue One in 2016 and the forthcoming Han Solo prequel in May this year, reports have suggested that the third film will focus on Obi-Wan – with McGregor tipped to return after previously taking on the role in Star Wars episodes 1-3.Now, McGregor has revealed that he’s up for reprising the role – although nothing has been officially discussed.“There’s a lot of talk”, McGregor told reporters at the Golden Globes after scooping the award for best actor in a TV movie or miniseries for his work on the latest season of Fargo.“I’d be happy to play [Obi-Wan] again. I don’t know any more about than you do.”McGregor also confirmed that he’s seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, hailing Rian Johnson’s addition to the sequel trilogy as “beautiful”.“I thought it was really, really beautiful”, he said.“I loved it.”

Although details about a potential Obi-Wan movie are thin on the ground, Billy Elliot director Stephen Daldry is reportedly among the names in contention to direct the film.Meanwhile, the next addition to the Star Wars universe will come in the form of Solo: A Star Wars story, which is set for release on May 25.Along with Alden Ehrenreich in the title role, the film will also star Donald Glover as smooth-talking smuggler Lando Calrissian.

Glover recently discussed the departure of Phil Lord and Chris Miller as directors on the project, and claimed that Ron Howard’s subsequent arrival behind the camera didn’t ultimately change the tone of the film.
